Sometimes I Just Tremble

Simply thinking about the Person of Jesus Christ will sometimes cause me to tremble because I know the very one Who created me and you and this universe actually abides within my person!! Think about this for just a moment.

The very One who created the earth in seven short days also created the universe, and stopped long enough to create you and me. AND if we believe in Him as Savior and Lord, He will take up residence in us, too. Such a Person who created all that is, abides in me and in you. Think on this, “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness.” Genesis 1:26 CSB.

We look all around us and soon discover our enemies, the enemies of God, are surrounding His people. These enemies are coming at us from within our own ranks. Just as Judas Iscariot betrayed our Lord and sold His identity for a few silver coins, our enemies, the enemies of the people of God are attacked by people we have trusted. And sometimes I tremble, but for the wrong reasons.

I should tremble for what I know is about to take place. Listen to the prophet Habakkuk, “You march across the earth with indignation; You trample down the nations in wrath. You come out to save Your people, to save Your anointed. You crush the leader of the house of the wicked and strip him from foot to neck.Selah” Habakkuk 3:12-13 HCSB.

The surrounding nations are seemingly set to destroy the People of God, But Yahweh becomes a violent storm and falls upon those set to attack. And there is nothing anyone observing the coming Storm. Habakkuk does not describe the Lord as being a storm, but what we read is this, “You uncovered your bow, you called for many arrows, You split the earth with rivers; the mountains saw you and writhed. Torrents of water swept by; the deep roared and lifted the waves on high…In wrath you strode through the earth and in anger you threshed the nations…You trampled the sea with your horses churning the great waters.” Sounds as if the Prophet is describing a great storm coming upon the whole earth. And sometimes I just tremble.

But now, after grasping for and breathing heavily…

“I will praise the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.  I will boast in the Lord; the humble will hear and be glad.  Proclaim Yahweh’s greatness with me; let us exalt His name together. I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant with joy; their faces will never be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him and saved him from all his troubles. The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and rescues them. Taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who takes refuge in Him! You who are His holy ones, fear Yahweh, for those who fear Him lack nothing.  Young lions lack food and go hungry, but those who seek the Lord will not lack any good thing.” Psalm 34:1-10 CSB.

Jesus is Lord!!
