Strength in Him Alone

“I came from the Father and entered into the world, but in turn, I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.” His disciples said, “Look, now you are speaking plainly and not in obscure figures of speech! Now we know that you know everything and do not need anyone to ask you anything. Because of this we believe that you have come from God.” John 16:28-30 NET2.

Christ spoke clearly to His disciples about how came from the Father and that He would return to Him. Just a moment before Jesus said He would send the Comforter as we know to be the Holy Spirit. John explained that the Word came in the flesh, and upon His departure He would be received into glory. The disciples matured in their knowledge and faith concerning Jesus. And no doubt they would say, “Now we know.”

Jesus supported them and gave them understanding about what would happen to their enemies and His. What they discovered is profound peace in Christ, their only true peace. What we understand is that in Him alone we Believers have His peace. We have peace and understanding with God and in Him we have eternal life.

In these difficult times we will be encouraged, because Christ has overcome the world in which we live and in Him we have abundant life. But while we stand in Him, we must be wary of the evil surrounding us and put on the entire Armor of God each day. We know how we should act when presented with temptation for He is our victory.

Jesus is Lord.
