Yes, my perspective is a Baptist kind of thing, but mostly a biblical one. One that is washed in the blood of the Lamb, and, the worldview I hold to is founded upon the inspired Word of God. Jesus said “Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the rivers rose, and the winds blew and pounded that house. Yet it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of Mine and doesn’t act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the rivers rose, the winds blew and pounded that house, and it collapsed. And its collapse was great!” When Jesus had finished this sermon, the crowds were astonished at His teaching, because He was teaching them like one who had authority, and not like their scribes.” Matthew 7:24-29 HCSB.
The life I live is dominated by Jesus and this has been so for almost 7 decades and He called me to serve Him almost 60 years ago. And, as Paul said, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…” Romans 1:16.
From what I have seen there is not one single church that believes and does everything exactly as another. There are disagreements on many things, but those churches following the Inspired Text are more so correct than those that do not. Is that arguable, “Yes.”
But what the Bible tells us is simple enough. God is God: the only God. He authored the Book that His Church will follow. Only those born-again by grace through faith in Jesus Christ will go to His Heaven.
“Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.” Revelation 20:11-14.
My advice? Read the Book.
Jesus is Lord.
