This Much I Know

My life in Christ is so very, very good because of Him. Understandably there are more folks than I realize disagreeing with what I know because they do not know what I know. My sadness is simple: these do not wish to know what is known by the faith expressed by those who do know.

The writer of Hebrews states, “Now faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen.” Chapter 11 verse 1. That which I know about God, that is to say, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I must share with others. The reason being you. What I know to be true is, “Who I am is a reality because I belong to Jesus Christ.” By His gift of faith from Him and through Him He received me as His own.

The Bible is very clear concerning the Christian faith. The Object of this faith is in the world, humanity, or in yourself. Believing faith is found in the Person, Jesus Christ. Paul explains why the Jew and everyone else who thinks ‘by doing good’ salvation can be obtained, “For through the law I have died to the law, so that I might live for God. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:19-20.

And we just read that the Apostle explains, “the life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God.” My attitude may seem to be arrogant or pride, but please hear me when I say that I am not ashamed of the Gospel, “But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love that He had for us, made us alive with the Messiah even though we were dead in trespasses. You are saved by grace! Together with Christ Jesus He also raised us up and seated us in the heavens, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift — not from works, so that no one can boast. For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:4-10.

If I had not been born-again there is no way of knowing what may have occurred in my life. However, He did save me at a young age. He also called me to His mission and I agreed to follow Him wherever He might have led. And today, after many decades and many travels He has given me rest from those adventures in Him. At this moment I have reason to rejoice…always in Him!!

“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your graciousness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things. Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you. I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that once again you renewed your care for me. You were, in fact, concerned about me but lacked the opportunity to show it. I don’t say this out of need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know both how to have a little, and I know how to have a lot. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being content—whether well fed or hungry, whether in abundance or in need. I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:4-13 HCSB.

Jesus is Lord!!
