Being the Elect of God is important to understand, but this is not an easy task.

The world doesn’t dislike you. The world’s not irritated by you. The world hates you because the world hates Jesus. If, indeed…in deed, Believers love and follow the biblical teachings of Jesus Christ, the world around us will HATE us. I have found that not only those outside the local church, but some of those inside the local church will hate us. And as Christians, we’ve got to be aware of this and accept what is happening. for that. That which we must understand is we must deny the Gospel and Jesus Christ. We must live so that the world will love us, but the church may hate us. We must make a very clear choice. We MUST remain in the teachings of Christ, we MUST love Him because He first loved us.

And Jesus is very clear. Believers cannot earn the love of both the church and the world. And this is a realization of the task ahead of us. I have found that Christians want to be loved by the church and the world. But in the end, that will turn out to be impossible. If we are to be faithful to Jesus Christ, the world in which we exist will inevitably HATE us. Are you prepared?

Jesus said the following things:

 “This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you. This I command you, that you love one another.” John 15:12-17 NASB.

Please note that Jesus is speaking to His disciples…”You did not choose Me, but I chose you to bear fruit AND to love one another.” However, there is going to be chaos…

The chaos will be within the heart of every Believer, every Follower of the Risen Christ, “If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.” John 15:18-19.

The world around us hates us because we are so very different. Because we are His disciples we know the difference. The difference is we are His elect, His chosen to do what He has chosen us to do. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10. Too often we get caught up in the argument that we are only chosen before for salvation. But this is not the case at all. We have been chosen to be His slaves, to be His servants to do His intentional good works. This is the reason we abide in Him. “. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.” We are to be His ‘fruit-bearers.’

We are elected, chosen, to go into the world, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you…” Matthew 28:19-20.

Jesus is Lord.
